John Bartlett is an established Canadian sportscaster who works as a hockey play-by-play announcer on Rogers Sportsnet and for Hockey Night in Canada.
John has been in the hockey announcer industry since the age of 22 when he started his career with the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League as their play-by-play announcer. He then became the Toronto Marlies play-by-play commentator from 2005-2011 and in 2007 won the AHL’s James H. Ellery Memorial Award for outstanding radio coverage.
In 2011, he became the English radio voice of the Montreal Canadiens and was then hired in 2014 to call Canadiens’ games on their regional network. In 2018, he became the regional TV voice for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Aside from his broadcasting career, John is the President and Founder of Very Inclusive Play Playgrounds. Its mission is to help plan, design, and build all-inclusive playgrounds in communities across Canada, that will allow children, regardless of their abilities, to play together.
