SAME PRIZE MONEY, SAME TITLE | SCANDINAVIAN MIXED TOURNAMENT

The European Tour, and Ladies European Tour (LET) announce a joint tournament for the men and women's tour, same prize money, same title in 2020. The inaugural Scandinavian Mixed Tournament will be played June 11-14 at Bro Hof Slott Golf Club in Stockholm.

Hosting the event is PGA TOUR and European Tour player, Henrik Stenson along with Annika Sorenstam who had an outstanding career on the LPGA Tour with a total of 93 professional wins. The tournament will play for three years where Henrik Stenson is committed to compete in all three tournaments where Annika Sorenstam will participate in the Pro-am as she has been retired since 2008.

The event will include 78 men and 78 women who will play for a €1,500,000 purse. Official World Ranking points will be offered for both tours.

Eleven-time European Tour winner Stenson said: “I’m extremely excited to host the Scandinavian Mixed alongside Annika, one of the best golfers the world has seen, and to have men and women competing alongside one another showcases what is great about our game.

“The European Tour has been leading the way in terms of innovative formats and I believe this is certainly one that can be part of the way golf is played in the future. Making our game accessible to everyone is something I am extremely passionate about."

Details to come on format, pairings, and course-set up but there is no doubt that the innovation and inclusivity will only grow the game for both Tours.
