Position Title: Specialist, Digital & PR

Location: Hybrid – Remote & in-Office at 1376 Bayview Ave. Toronto, ON. Some travel to events may be required during summer months.

Who We Need

CIMORONI needs a Specialist, Digital & PR who will report to the Director, Client Strategy while also working with key contacts across the organization and our key client at Mud Hero. Our ideal candidate will be social media savvy, a creative content producer, knows their way around a website and can successfully pitch a story to earn media coverage. We’re looking for someone our colleagues and clients will describe as being ‘amazing to work with’.

Position Responsibilities and Duties

This position will work approximately 50% of their time with Mud Hero, Canada’s most fun obstacle course racing series, with the other 50% allocated across other CIMORONI clients and business needs.

Public Relations

  • Support in the conceptualization and development of public relations strategies, leading the implementation of corresponding tactics

  • Actively pitch members of both traditional and digital media outlets to earn coverage for a broad range of CIMORONI clients

  • Maintain positive relationships with members of the media, influencers, and other contributors to digital outlets

  • Maintain accurate media contact lists

  • Proactively identify and ideate unique ways to elevate our clients’ profile

  • Monitor earned media coverage and evaluate performance against KPIs


  • Plan, ideate, create, manage, and monitor organic and paid social campaigns to drive brand awareness, engagement, and transactions

  • Create, layout and manage email marketing to a six-figure subscriber list

  • Manage basic website updates using Squarespace

  • Create content for social platforms using Canva, or other design tools

  • Work with strategists and account teams to ensure content is hitting KPIs

  • Manage inbound and outbound follower interaction across social platforms

  • Keep informed of the latest social media best practices and technologies

  • Maintain a strong network of social media influencers and other influential figures

Project Management

  • Prioritize and handle multiple assignments, for multiple clients

  • Use solutions-oriented thinking to address potential issues before they surface

  • Prepare succinct, and well laid out, presentations or documents to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders

  • Contribute to project management documentation, aligning all relevant stakeholders

Client Service

  • Maintain effective communication with key client stakeholders through video, phone email, and in-person correspondence

  • Contribute to regular status meetings

  • Consistently research and analyze pertinent client, industry, and technical matters, updating the client with relevant findings

  • Understand the landscape for our clients' business and sector(s), as well as the industry contexts for their PR & digital marketing initiatives


  • Represent CIMORONI, and our company values, as an active member in the industry

  • Other (Reasonable) Duties that inevitably come up in a small business

Desired Skills

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience

  • Creative content development & community management experience

  • Strong relationship manager with personnel from traditional and online media outlets

  • Effective communicator and pitch person; using written and verbal communication to sell ideas and earn media coverage

  • Technical skills required include confidence and aptitude in using Facebook Ads Manager, Mailchimp, Squarespace, and Canva

  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace

  • Strong base of knowledge in B2C PR, marketing, content, and distribution strategy

  • Strong project management skills: can manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines

  • Team-oriented attitude, yet thrives working independently

  • Not satisfied with ‘good enough’

  • Has never said the phrase ‘that’s not my job’
